Jeremy was born and raised in Winona, Minnesota. He is a 2001 graduate of Winona Senior High School and earned an associate degree in accounting from Minnesota State College - Southeast Technical.
He is the chief financial officer and quality, environmental, health and safety (QEH&S) management representative for Wm. Miller Scrap Iron & Metal Co, a family owned and operated scrap and recycling business that dates back to 1910. Miller and his two brothers are the fourth generation of Millers and work together with their father and a very dedicated team of employees.
Jeremy and his wife, Janel, have three sons. Drew is 4 years old and Luke and Tom will be 3 in July.
Jeremy is active in his community and in the recycling trade industry. He serves as Vice President of the Morrie Miller Athletic Foundation, an organization that has been instrumental in supporting and sustaining youth athletics. Jeremy serves on the President’s Advisory Council at Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical and is a Director on the Winona State University Warrior Club and Saint Mary’s University Athletic Advisory Board and a member of the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Jeremy is the Chairman of the Global Recycling Standards Organization and a member of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) Planning Committee.
Jeremy is currently serving his second term as a member of the Minnesota Senate representing Fillmore, Houston, and Winona counties. His principal interests as a state senator are supporting and enhancing the economic and cultural life in southeastern Minnesota, including stimulating job growth, improving educational outcomes, and preserving and protecting the unique natural environment of southeastern Minnesota.
Jeremy is a sports enthusiast and passionate Winona State Warriors supporter. He enjoys participating in a variety of sports and outdoor activities, including running, fishing, and spending time on the Mississippi River. Jeremy also participates in triathlons (swim, bike, run) and loves the mental and physical challenges the race brings.
